Neo-Nazi National Socialist Movement Plans to Rally on National Mall near Washington Monument
On, April 19, 2008, at 12 PM (noon) the neo-Nazi, white-supremacist organization known as the “National Socialist Movement” is planning to march and rally “against illegal immigration” on the National Mall in Washington, DC, on the North Side of the Washington Monument. The monument is located to the South of Constitution Avenue NW, between 15th St NW and 17th St NW.
Coming on the heels of the racist immigration ordinance passed in Prince William County, Virginia (and similar laws passed elsewhere in the US), and coupled with the alarming rise in the number of known hate groups in the United States, we feel that the march of these racist bigots must be confronted vigorously, and with strength.
Despite claims that those opposed to immigration are concerned about “the rule of law”, terrorist groups such as the Ku Klux Klan and the National Socialist Movement have always attempted to blame immigrants, African-Americans, Jews, non-heterosexual people, and all people of color for what they perceive to be “societal problems”. It is clear that their hatred is based on racial prejudice, and the law is merely an excuse to spread their white supremacist beliefs. We believe that it is not any coincidence that xenophobes and white supremacists share views on immigration, and immigrants.
The National Socialist Movement, according to their website, are “America's Nazi Party”, and are “…inspired by our Fuhrer Adolf Hitler.” The group is currently, according to the Anti-Defamation League, the largest neo-Nazi group in the United States, largely due to the implosion of several other neo-Nazi groups.
They are the same organization that, in order to stir up hatred, marched in Toledo, Ohio (in 2005) in a neighborhood largely made up of people of color. They did indeed, get a reaction, as riots ensued, and the Nazis, and the police protecting them, were run out of the area for a time.
We invite all those opposed to fascism and racism to come and confront this very real, and dangerous neo-Nazi group. Gather at 11:30 AM on the Southwest corner of Constitution Ave NW and 14th St NW (the Mall side), to assemble before confronting the fascists.

Fri, April 11, 2008 - 8:58 PMI think that rallying to try and stop this march is a bad idea, seems how the nazis want a negative reaction to try and defend themselves and beliefs. The best way to react to the march is tell everyone to stay away, that way they have no one to preach their hatred too.

What if it does turn into a race riot ? maybe we'll finally get lucky and no one will ever be allowed to protest in DC again.
The Nazi party want a rise out of people, don't give them one. Showing up in force against them isn't going to change their views or detour them. They want to be out numbered so they look like the victims.

If Anarchists of all races can stand in solidarity with the black local citizens of DC who are going to show up anyway, then I think it would be more of a positive than a negative. If anything, if people who are white stand in solidarity with black locals we are doing more to fight racism than just opposing the Nazis. It lets them know that not all of us are racist pieces of shit.
Also, if some Nazi skulls get cracked, then I probably wont lose any sleep over it. -

Fuck 'em. Hardly worth a demo. These jokers rely, seek and cultivate the histrionic reactions of opposition to create false import, coverage, and profile. If they were actually a threat, a priority on any revolutionary/movement horizon, I think attention and a bit more fight would be called for. But a public passion play and shouting match would hardly be the most effective way to combat their cultural seep and their organizations power. -

Sat, April 12, 2008 - 12:21 PMActually, I think the National Socialists are a military force to be reckoned with unfortunately. Them and their clan relatives have a lot of power in the south and parts of the middest and become police officers and actively press false charges against black people, sometimes rigging court hearings. They do this for entertainment. They also have large stockpiles of weapons. In the theoretical absence of our government, the Nazis could pose a legitimate threat. They are also a threat in our prisons and basically operate like a gang that you either have to join or you get attacked by everyone else. Prisons are a major recruiting ground for them.
The protest is going to happen anyway. Maybe ignoring them wouldnt be the worst thing, but if its going to happen anyway we might as well outnumber them. Also, I would like to at least stand in solidarity with the black community to let them know that not all white folk are the same kind of racist assholes.
