Children cannot make an informed decision about drinking poison from under the sink. You will have to offer a guiding role and sometimes set boundaries and tell your child no, or physically stop them from running in front of cars. I think there are definitely ways to raise a child with the maximum level of freedom and raising them to question authority and set their own destiny. Children should be encouraged to make their own decisions, with guidance, from a very early age. They should be taught that decisions have real world consequences, and I dont mean punishments but cause and effect. Children should be allowed to pursue their own interests and we should encourage their empowerment. There are a lot of good books on Anarchist child rearing.
